In 2008 Erv formed the ATCA (Arizona Training Counselors Assn) in an effort to bring the training in Arizona to a more suitable and functional level as he saw various problems with training in the area.

Erv was appointed a “Master Training Counselor” by the NRA and has several assistant instructors and two appointed Training Counselors that work with him in his business, Take Time To Play Inc.

Erv lives in Mesa Arizona (PHX METRO) and has been teaching firearms classes in Arizona and Utah for many years and has even developed proprietary coursework in martial arts, situational awareness and personal protection using various instructional methods and methodologies. He has also taught Hunter Education for the Arizona Department of Fish and Game and works with the Boy Scouts of America and other various youth groups in Arizona.

Erv teaches state-approved CCW courses for both Arizona and Utah and also teaches the Arizona State mandated courses for armed security guards. He has instructed and certified corrections officers in New Mexico in tactical shotgun, rifle and pistol who are now teaching other corrections officers at the prison.
